Television is not The Limbo

Why is it that the FOX network can be so schizophrenic when it comes to programming? They have managed to air some really good shows (X-Files, Simpsons, 24, Sliders, Firefly, Family Guy, etc.) but are also known for their stinkers (Married by America, When Animals Attack!, Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire?, Temptation Island.) Granted I haven't seen this newest one yet, but I doubt that it'd be one to watch. The Hollywood Reporter (via TV Squad) mentions that FOX has picked up a script commitment for a new show called "Bitches". From one of the writers of X2 and Superman Returns, the story is about 4 New York career women who turn in to werewolves during the full moon. Me thinks FOX is anticipating 2009 being the year of the wolf, with Benicio del Toro's remake of "The Wolfman" and "Twilight" sequel "New Moon."

A second issue is whether FOX will be able to get the title "Bitches" past the censors. I've noticed the word "bitch" has been popping up more often on prime-time and so it's quite possible it may happen. Maybe 2009 is the season of the bitch.

Is that like the Season of the Witch, but hairier and with fewer warts?

You would think by now Fox would have gotten it's act together! I've been on a semi-boycott of their shows since Firefly was cancelled.
